Vineyard Report for 2016

January 24, 2017
The 2016 season produced another excellent harvest. This vintage should produce some great wines. Click here to see details.

The 2016 season will be remembered for moderate weather and another outstanding harvest.  Grape quality was excellent and we look forward to some great wines from the 2016 vintage. The total rainfall was lower for all of 2016 but the growing season of April through September saw about 3 inches more rain than that period in 2015.  The fall was much dryer, with no rain recorded in October.  Overall it was a cooler year, but the number of days above 90 degrees was 36 compared to 24 for the prior year, with the highest recorded temperature being 96 degrees on July 25.  The lowest temperature was 11.2 degrees on February 14.

So far in 2017 temperatures have been moderate, so we will hope for a continued good weather leading to an excellent 2017 vintage.
